VandaSalamat
A medical and laboratory equipment supplier with no website at all, given an online store and a matching print catalogue that put it in front of the labs and hospitals it sells to.
From nothing to a store that speaks the lab's language
Vanda Salamat Izad supplies and manufactures medical and laboratory equipment — from large instruments such as autoclaves, laminar flow hoods, incubators, centrifuges and blood bank refrigerators to specialised kits and culture media. Its customers are laboratories and hospitals, and until then it had no website at all: presenting products and taking orders happened entirely offline.
The Challenge
A buyer in this field is not a casual shopper. A laboratory's purchasing officer searches for the exact name of a kit or a culture medium, not a broad category. Vanda Salamat's product list was both long and technical, and entering it item by item was work that could have taken months and held the launch hostage. The site also had to serve as the company's formal introduction, not only as a shop.
Our Approach
We built the site from scratch, with a structure that carries both online sales and a formal company introduction. So the launch would not wait on product data, we imported the entire catalogue in bulk rather than leaving the Vanda Salamat team to enter it item by item; only the product photography stayed with them, since it was not ready yet. We then designed the print catalogue in the same colours, type and spirit as the site.
The Result
Vanda Salamat now has an online reference it can point labs and hospitals to in correspondence, its full product list was live from day one, and its print catalogue puts the same brand in the customer's hands.
